General

To arrange legal indemnity insurance on behalf of your client, you must be either:

  • a solicitor
  • a licensed conveyancer
  • a legal executive
  • an individual working under the supervision of one of the above
You must also be working for a firm authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), or registered (or in the process of being registered) as an ancillary insurance intermediary, to undertake insurance distribution business. We can’t conduct business directly with members of the public; please pass any enquiries to your solicitor, legal executive or licensed conveyancer.
You can arrange cover with our online service, ICON, or you can contact us with your enquiry by phone, or send it to us via email, fax, or letter. Click here to find out more.
We can add an escalator to some policies, which automatically increases the policy limit by a compounded rate of 10% each year, subject to a maximum of 200% of the original limit.
You must provide a Demands and Needs statement to your clients when recommending insurance such as a legal indemnity policy, as per regulatory requirements set out by the Solicitors Regulatory Authority and the Council of Licensed Conveyancers. A Demands and Needs statement should outline to the client their insurance requirements based on the information they’ve provided.
Yes, we include a template Demands & Needs statement with every quote you obtain. You can use and adapt this template as much as you like. You can also download a copy of our Demands & Needs statement by clicking here.
We’re not permitted to offer advice on the policy limit required for individual cases. For further information, please refer to the UK Finance Mortgage Lenders' Handbook.
You can call our dedicated claims team on 01603 761515, email claims@isisconveyancing.co.uk or write to the Claims Manager at Isis Conveyancing, The Union Building, 51-59 Rose Lane, Norwich, NR1 1BY.

ICON will even tell you who is handling your enquiry and when they will contact you.
The first person from your firm to register will automatically become a ‘Firm administrator’ as soon as they log in. From here they can:

  • add new office locations
  • manage the registration process
The Firm administrator role can also be reallocated, providing that the nominated person is registered for ICON.
